A unique advantage of the programme is the close cooperation between a Danish and Swedish university, bridged by Øresundsbroen. MACA is the first master programme to take full advantage of the emerging transnational Öresund region.
MACA was developed by the Departments of European Ethnology in Copenhagen and Lund jointly. Ethnology is a discipline that has pioneered cultural analysis focusing on everyday life. The programme also brings in other, multi-disciplinary perspectives.Today MACA Lund is run by the Department of Arts and Cultural Sciences and MACA Copenhagen is run by the SAXO-Institute.
Students at MACA Copenhagen and MACA Lund enjoy the benefit of working with teachers at both universities, and experience two very attractive environments; Cosmopolitan Copenhagen and the historical university town of Lund.
